Ilse Ruizvisfocri is a writer born in the city of Colima, México. She graduated from college with a B.A. in International Business knowing a lot about economics, but little about life. In 2024, she self published her first poetry collection "Character Development". Later that year, she began competing in slams in the New England area; in 2025 she was part of the Boston Poetry Slam team competing in different tournaments in the region. Later that year, she won the state slam competition and earned a spot to represent Colima in the National Championship in Mexico. This competition took place in October 2026, where after a close contention, Ilse placed first, becoming Mexico’s National Slam Poetry Champion. Currently living in Ridgewood, looking to create more projects that incorporate live music and probably, working behind some bar in New York City, Ilse keeps trying to describe complexities and romance within the mundane life.
